2020 Shenzhen International Conference on Statistics and Data Science was successfully held in SUSTech.

The research team of Professor Qi-Man SHAO was awarded a grant from the Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, a groundbreaking success for our department.

All undergraduate students in Statistics and graduate students in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics are formally transferred to our department.
July
This year, 45 undergraduate students in our department received the bachelor degree and among them, 34 students continued to receive the graduate education and the remaining students started working in jobs with brilliant prospects. For our graduate students, 9 of them received the M.Phil. degree in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, with 3 continued with the Ph.D. program and 6 working in areas related to statistics and data science.

Dr. Yifang MA published a research article titled “Mentorship and protégé success in STEM fields” in a top-tier high-impact academic journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
