报告简介  Abstract

Administrative data as a source of big data are primarily collected for a purpose other than research. In this talk, I will discuss the use of administrative data for research and the associated challenges. Three administrative data research examples will be discussed: 1) study of the socioeconomic inequality in neonatal and early childhood mortality using birth registration data for Scotland from 1981 to 2011; 2) a causal mediation analysis of the national population-based cohort data in Denmark to study the role of birth weight and gestational age in the mechanisms that underlie socioeconomic differences in infant mortality; 3) study of the impacts of the nationwide pricing reform for drugs and medical services in the urban public hospitals in China.

嘉宾简介  About the Speaker

傅博，复旦大学大数据学院教授、博士生导师，上海市特聘专家，英国皇家统计学会会士。2003年在香港大学获得统计学博士学位，2003-2006年在剑桥大学从事博士后研究，2006年至2017年先后在新加坡南洋理工大学数学科学系、英国曼彻斯特大学医学院、英国伦敦大学学院（UCL）医学院任教职。2015-2017年同时在英国行政数据研究中心和剑桥大学MRC生物统计中心兼职。作为项目负责人主持过英国医学研究理事会、英国儿童健康研究基金、中国国家自然科学基金等机构资助的多项科研基金项目。研究论文发表在统计学、生物医学统计、生物医学、公共卫生、流行病学、健康数据科学、卫生政策、运筹管理等多领域国际一流学术期刊。
